Description
Lithium-ion batteries LFP5L 12V/XXWH
Are you looking for an inexpensive lithium starter battery that is also light as a feather and super compact? Then the Louis Parts lithium battery is just the thing for you.
These power packs have everything your bike needs:
Information on converting from lead/acid to Li-ion batteries:
Note:
Please only use chargers designed for lithium-ion batteries, see βMatching articlesβ.
Good to know:
Lead-acid batteries only utilise 30% of their capacity because of their specific properties, whereas lithium-ion batteries can make use of almost 100% of their capacity. The lithium versions of Louis Parts batteries therefore only require approx. 1/3 of the capacity (lower ampere hours) of a comparable lead-acid battery to give the same starting power.
These power packs have everything your bike needs:
- the charge level is regulated by a processor (balancer) and ensures the highest safety standard for current lithium-ion batteries, which are smaller and lighter than gel or AGM batteries
- Powerful, high starting performance
- Can be installed in any position (upright, lying down, angled, as no acid can escape)
- Robust housing
- Includes adhesive pads for versatile applications
- Battery indicator
- Low self-discharge
- Long service life
- Faster charging than conventional batteries
- No memory effect
Information on converting from lead/acid to Li-ion batteries:
- Changing from a conventional starter battery (lead-acid battery) to a lithium battery is basically feasible for almost any motorbike
- Unless the conversion leads to any problems or restrictions, no action is required
- Note the year of manufacture of the motorbike β was it delivered from the factory with a lead-acid battery? Many older motorbikes have alternator regulators that do not charge lithium batteries fully or deliver excessively high charging currents.
- This can also be caused by the usual wear and tear on regulators over the years. Both can lead to significant reductions in the life of lithium batteries, defects and even total failure
- Check the function and performance of your motorbikeβs charging current regulator before converting to a lithium-ion battery,
- preferably with a voltmeter on the battery terminals, to see how much the charging voltage goes up when you increase the engine speed at idle. The charging voltage should remain below 14.6 volts
- If in doubt or to be on the safe side, replace the old regulator with a Carmo Li-Ion alternator regulator, see βMatching articlesβ
Note:
Please only use chargers designed for lithium-ion batteries, see βMatching articlesβ.
