Off-road and touring textile jackets from Vanucci are always rather special. The Vanucci *VAJ-2 Tech Air*, for example. The appearance of this motorcycle jacket is classic Vanucci - sturdy, stylish and good. This is how a touring jacket should be: with laminated SympaTex climate membrane, longer cut, large pockets, adjustable sleeves, waist and hem, air vents. Stretch fabric and Power Stretch panels offer superb comfort.
But the special feature of the Vanucci *VAJ-2 Tech Air* is on the inside. It's compatible with the Alpinestars *Tech Air Street-e* Airbag Vest - the innovative protection for enhanced safety in the event of an accident.

The membranes are manufactured from different base materials, depending on the brand, and are made either as a loose "liner", as a laminate (bonded to the outer material), or as a coating on a carrier material.
The SympaTex membrane is made of polyester, and transports water vapour molecules outwards by means of chemical reactions. Different materials are tailored to the various applications in the field of motorcycle clothing.
All climate membranes are sensitive to mechanical damage: if a membrane is pierced, clearly it can no longer provide protection. Damage can also result from the use of inappropriate washing agents. Softeners, including those contained in detergents, damage the membrane irreparably!

Motorcycle clothing should offer you the best possible protection if you take a tumble.
If you slide across a rough asphalt surface, an abrasion-resistant outer fabric only helps as long as the seams can take the strain. This is why the safety-critical seams on many Louis products are manufactured according to the ISO 4916 standard, that is to say with a visible and a concealed seam. This means that the material will still hold together if the visible seam is torn open by friction.
