The NC 700 X is an almost perfect all-rounder. The Louis conversion makes it even more practical and individual.
Honda NC 700 X
At Honda, NC stands for New Concept – and maximum user friendliness.
A smart all-rounder – The Honda NC 700 X
It's DNA contains genes from touring enduro, supermoto and street bikes. It's easy to ride, offers plenty of comfort, an upright riding position, agile handling and is just as good for everyday riding as it is for the grand tour. The Honda NC 700 X is part of the latest generation of lifestyle and adventure bikes. It's remarkable how elegantly the various exterior style elements fit together to create a uniform look for the bike. Nothing looks too bulky – a drawback with some touring enduros – and it also has that certain machismo.
Perfecting the NC 700 with high-quality accessories
What's also astonishing is that modern accessories fit the look of this bike so perfectly. Elegant, CNC-machined LSL levers at the front, LSL aluminium footrests, a slim license plate holder from Protech at the rear, ProGrip grips with white accents, sturdy SW-MOTECH hand guards and premium Magazi mirrors almost look like OEM accessories. And they give this gentleman's bike the finishing touch.
The same goes for our sleek, powerful LED mini turn signals. For the front installation and cable routing, all we had to do was remove the front side fairing and secure the turn signal mount cover, which is best done with a drop of glue. A flasher unit ensures the right flashing rate. Once the side fairing has been removed, you can also take the opportunity to install a vehicle socket.
Gentlemen riders don't like to get their hands dirty if they can avoid it. And why should they, when a Scottoiler, controlled electronically from the handlebar, can take care of the correct chain lubrication? To mount the oil reservoir on the rear frame, we had to file a small recess into the tail trim for the feed line. The electrics are stowed away beneath the false tank.
The right luggage system makes the Honda perfect for touring
A practical motorcycle like the NC should be equipped for touring. A top box, for example, can hold a fair bit of luggage and is always handy for keeping your helmet safe and secure. Textile panniers add extra storage space. The Blaze bags from SW-MOTECH and their brackets sit securely on the vehicle without the bother of straps, and they fit the overall premium look of the bike.
A centre stand is handy for keeping the parked bike stable, even when fully loaded. This investment will pay off during the winter and when doing maintenance jobs. An Ermax touring windshield, 10 cm higher than the original, provides better protection against the wind on long stretches of motorway, while a mudguard extension from Bodystyle and a smart rear hugger protect against dirt and water. The Hurric RAC1 gives the right sound for enjoyable riding, comes with EC type approval and is also much lighter than the original silencer.
